Choosing the right skip size saves you money and avoids the hassle of overfilling or ordering too large. Here’s a quick guide:
4 Yard Skip — Small Domestic Jobs
Perfect for a bathroom or kitchen clearance, small garden tidy-up, or a single room refurbishment. Holds the equivalent of around 30–40 bin bags.
8 Yard Skip — Medium Projects
Our most popular size. Ideal for home renovations, larger garden clearances, or clearing out a garage or shed. Holds around 60–80 bin bags.
12 Yard Skip — Larger Renovations

What Can Go in a Skip?

What Can’t Go in a Skip
Certain materials are prohibited by law and cannot be placed in a skip. These include asbestos, tyres, fridges and freezers, fluorescent tubes, paint and solvents, and any hazardous or chemical waste. If you need to dispose of these items, we offer a dedicated hazardous waste disposal service — just get in touch and we’ll advise you.
Do I Need a Skip Permit?
If the skip is being placed on your private driveway or land, no permit is needed.
If it needs to go on a public road or pavement, you’ll require a skip permit from your local council. We can arrange this on your behalf — just let us know when you book and we’ll handle it for you.
